Temporary Importation Methods for Duty-Free Entry
Re-Export or Local Sale of Temporarily Imported Exhibition Cargo
In House Customs Brokerage for Exhibition Cargo
Elite Transportation employs experienced in-house customs staff to closely coordinate and prepare all import and export customs entries for Thai Customs. We also perform normal import clearance for general cargo upon application.
Klong Toey Port Located in the Bangkok metropolitan area, Klong Toey Port is closest to the city's exhibition venues
Laem Chabang Port Located approximately 60 kilometers from Bangkok, it is a large port servicing the eastern seaboard area, but also services Bangkok. Additional charges may apply for clearance at Laem Chabang. (Alternate spelling `Lam Chabang')
Bangkok Airport Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is the new international airport opened in September 2006, replacing the old Don Muang airport.

Temporary Importation Methods for Duty-Free Entry:
For imports of Exhibition & Trade Show cargo to Thailand, we can arrange different types of temporary import clearances on a duty-free basis to suit our exhibitors' requirements.
ATA Carnets are recognized by Thai Customs and provide one of the simplest methods for temporary importation. Goods entering under Carnets can also be sold during the exhibition.
Bank Guarantees arranged by Elite Transportation allow for temporary duty-free entry of exhibition cargo at reasonable cost. Goods entering under a Bank Guarantee can be sold during the exhibition. Elite will arrange to re-classify the temporary entry as permanent, with duties paid prior to release of the cargo.
Customs Cash Guarantees are used for lower value imports.....more
Import License Applications:
Import Licenses are required for some classes of restricted or controlled cargo. Additional lead time and documentation is required for the application process. Import Licenses must be approved and be in-hand upon cargo arrival in Thailand. Do not ship cargo requiring import licenses without Elite's prior approval. Some items may be `re-classified' in order to reduce or exclude unnecessary licensing procedures.
Items requiring Import Licenses include (not complete listing):
Communication equipment / transmitting devices / radars / satellite dishes, etc.
Radiographic equipment, including X-ray machines
Arms, explosives, ammunition, fireworks, military equipment
Electronic appliances, including some halogen lighting equipment
All weapons, including cross bows
Pornographic materials
Cigarettes, tobacco products, alcoholic beverages
Foodstuff, including canned food
Medical, pharmaceutical, chemical products, including herbal medicines
Health & beauty products
Live animals and any products made from animal parts
Re-Export or Local Sale of Temporarily Imported Exhibition Cargo
Elite Transportation will arrange the re-export of temporarily imported exhibition cargo, typically within one to two weeks after the exhibition, depending upon entry method, destination, and cargo type. Elite will clear all issues from the original entry, including, cancellation of the bank guarantee, and changing a temporary entry to permanent duty-paid entry for local sale. Elite will also arrange the local transportation of sold items to the buyers' premises.
