ISPM15 Compliant Crates (What is
ISPM15?)
International standards for phytosanitary measures are
prepared by the Secretariat of the International Plant Protection Convention as
part of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s global programme
of policy and technical assistance in plant quarantine. ISPM15 is a
Phytosanitary Standard scheduled for enforcement around the world by
participating countries from April 01 2005. Australia began enforcement from
September 01 2005. Wooden crates and packaging may be subject to ISPM15
standards on entry to participating countries from April 01 2005 including
imports or re-entries to Australia as of September 01 2005. Only ISPM15
Certification and Stamping will enable smooth transit into participating
countries. Consequences of not being Compliant and Certified may include refusal
of entry and mandatory return shipping, compulsory Quarantine treatment or
destruction all at shippers cost. Recent discussions suggest that in 2006 the
enforcement of these regulations is to become more stringent. Elite is an
ISPM15 Certified Manufacturer. According to extensive continuously audited

ISPM15 Treatment
Elite can arrange for your existing
crates to be treated to ISPM15 Standards using Either Heat Treatment or
Fumigation. Heat Treatment is size limited. Technical advice confirms that
painted and lined crates may not be successfully fumigated.
