200 Year-old Teak Door

The project involved the transfer of a door, considered a national treasure, from the National History Museum in Pathum Thani province to National Museum Bangkok. The 200 year-old teak door weighed one ton and measured five meters in height. It was carved on one side and painted on the other.

The destination building could not fit cranes and fork lifts. ELITE devised a solution with special techniques and mechanisms to move the door and install it. We protected the floor with thick plastic sheets and a transport roller crated to move the door in on its side. A special harness was constructed to hang in hooks. The door was then balanced, raised, and slid into a metal frame.
